The Victorians

What better way to look into Victorian history than by seeing it through the eyes of one of Britain’s most famous authors, Charles Dickens.

Set in the bustling world of Victorian Britain the play depicts how real-life events and individuals inspired Dickens to craft his unforgettable characters. Please note – this is a portrayal of what life would have been like in Victorian Britain and not an in depth look into Charles Dickens’ work.

Through his eyes, the audience witness the hardships faced by the poor in the overcrowded slums of London, the struggles of child labourers in workhouses, factories, mines and chimneys and the lives of street urchins surviving against all odds. They also get to experience what school was like during this time as well as meet some important historical figures such as Dr Barnardo and even Queen Victoria herself!

Please Sir, I want some more....
